The Sparkling Ingredient

Catalyst is for the woman who wants to be noticed! She loves to stand out in a crowd and to be playful with her wardrobe. She is the woman who raises eyebrows when she steps into a lift full of dark suits and represents the sparkling ingredient we'd all love in our lives.

Designer Jon Dyball

Jon Dyball joined the High Society Design Team as the Catalyst Designer in September 2010. Jon comes to High Society with 20 years experience, across the clothing industry’s spectrum, from patternmaking and production through design, in both men’s and women’s wear. Jon's career began in menswear, where he spent eleven years mastering fine tailoring. Eventually, with a need to expand his creative abilities, Jon delved head first into a new creative dimension, entering the “wonderful world of women’s wear"!

Jon’s unique “handwriting” is playful and clever. Full of interesting elements and texture and using quality fabrications, his work fits perfectly into the High Society way of thinking. Not to be grounded by life’s rules and regulations, Jon sees outside the square and happily explores the use of unconventional and unexpected design elements. Jon is a very welcome addition to the HSL Design Team and his appointment has brought a freshness and highly creative skill base that will maintain HSL’s position as a frontrunner on the New Zealand fashion scene.

CATALYST WINTER 2012 - "KEEP CALM AND SPARKLE"

Catalyst Winter 2012’s “Keep Calm and Sparkle” offers you my new mantra for living. Bringing life and verve to winter’s dullest days, the collection will feature the same riot of colour and sense of playful fun, which the Summer collection introduced to you. Pretty, floral prints abound, and are enlivened with beautiful brights. Rock and romance collide, with lace showing strongly, offset by touches of  leather and fur. In other stories, a subtler colour palette adds a touch of sophistication. A stunning black and cream story shows off 50s styling to maximum effect with soft shirting, feminine dresses with sleeves and sweet skirts all on display. The dress continues its reign into winter with streamlined jackets and coats offering the perfect accompaniment to throw off when its time to dance on the tabletop!
